Continuing Education
Now that I am almost finished with my Masters of Arts in Education program, I am looking forward to sharing my work in other continuing education endeavors.

Creative Computing Online MOOC - Design Notebook
Instructors: Scratch Ed Team at Harvard University Reflection: I found out about this course through a post on the ISED listserv (independent school educators) and was excited to join. Our 5th graders have used Scratch in the past with another teacher, but with the move to Chromebooks, it wasn't possible to use it. The release of Scratch 2.0 is exciting and I was eager to learn how to program in Scratch and for the affordances it can bring to teaching digital literacy and storytelling in my classes. Classroom Media Workshop Pilot - Design Notebook
Instructors: CMW Facilitation Team at Harvard University Reflection: I also found out about this course through a post on the ISED listserv and joined. It was different than the Scratch workshop in that it was a small pilot class instead of a massive online course. The facilitators worked with our small cohort of about 18 educators from across the country to teach us how to create media for use in our classroom. Work Examples: Design Notebook & Classroom Library video |
